About the work
“Photoshop is where the magic is made! I started on this piece with a gradient background and added some motion blur and old paper and book textures layers on top. For the type, I really like using Neue Haas Grotesk in most of posters because of its readability and Swiss nature. I’ve been in a groove lately with using DJR Crayonette. It has that vintage feel, while also pairing well with modern san serifs to keep it feeling 21st century. I used the freeform pen tool to draw two humans, and found the rest of the graphics (birds and flowers) in public use vintage photo/illustration archives. Finally, I added some circles for composition purposes to create a distinct fore/middle/background and some more paper textures/gradient overlays to get the color just right!” – Gina Sterling
