About the work
“I wanted to choose a topic that felt incredibly personal… something I can not only put my passion for illustration behind but also put a little piece of me out into the world to see if I could help someone else feel seen. I channeled all my daily anxieties and pressures that women feel and started sketching. I brought that sketch into Procreate on my iPad and just began illustrating. Bringing it back and forth into Photoshop to test colors and what not, I eventually landed on what you see — a sea of anxiety that I’m surrounded by every day of my life.”

About the Designer
Alexa is a graphic designer, amateur knitter and avid giggler. She began her career in broadcast design at NBC Sports, but has loved making the transition into the advertising world, now working in advertising as an Art Director at The VIA Agency. She spends her evenings illustrating just for kicks, but has also found it to be a powerful tool for her mental health.
