Dialogues With Creative Legends

What if you could go back in time and be mentored by the brightest stars from design history - Massimo Vignelli, Paul Rand, Herb Lubalin, Charles and Ray Eames, Saul Bass - and bring that experience into the present to energize your work and validate your talent?

Well, you can't (yet). But David Laufer, Principal at Laufer/Roth/Asia and President of AIGA Atlanta, is bringing the next best thing to Birmingham.

As a design student in the late sixties and long into his career, David sought out interviews with more than 40 design legends and recently compiled them into a book, Dialogues with Creative Legends and Aha Moments in a Designer’s Career*. In it, he reveals what they taught him about creative process, beginning a career, developing client relationships, mentoring and the role of design thinking in society.

Spend an evening with David as he shares inspirations and insights from these remarkable personal encounters with the greats - and let their wisdom inspire you. Plus, enter a raffle for a chance to win a copy of the book autographed by the author!

Join us Thursday, September 19th at 6:30 pm at Intermark Group. This is a free presentation open to professionals, students, members and non-members of AIGA Birmingham.

Attendees are invited to have dinner with David after the presentation. We will be going to El Barrio in downtown Birmingham.

David Laufer is a visual designer with a wide spectrum of experience. His work first came to international prominence with his rebranding of Oxford University Press for its 500th anniversary.
