This month’s AIGA Maine Member Spotlight features Board Member, Alphan Günaydın. We spoke to him about his work, life in Maine, and experience with AIGA.
Introducing Alphan Günaydın as a new member to the AIGA Board! Alphan is a seasoned full-stack developer with over 15 years of experience in software and web development.
Originally from Istanbul, Alphan spent two decades in Boston, earning his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts Boston and a graduate degree in Information Technology from Harvard University. He gained significant experience working at creative agencies, contributing to award-winning projects.
In 2019, Alphan moved to Maine, where he established his own boutique software and web development studio. There, he collaborates with select agencies and clients on their projects. You can visit his website here.

Q: Why did you join the AIGA board?
A: I joined AIGA to share my experience in technology, learn from others, and contribute to the Maine community.
Q: Tell us more about what you are hoping to accomplish while on the board.
A: I am hoping to increase AIGA’s exposure in Maine while contributing to the local community
Q: What inspires you when it comes to design/graphic arts/visual communication?
A: I draw inspiration from minimalism, color theory, typography, and UI/UX design, all of which contribute to the creation of effective and responsive digital experiences.
Q: What do you love about living in Maine?
A: So many things, but what stands out the most is the simplicity of life.
