AIGA Maine is excited to announce Design Fest 2024, a celebration from August 15th-23rd of the evolving landscape of graphic design, fueled by advancements in technology such as artificial intelligence (AI).
This year’s theme, “The Future of Design,” promises to inspire and challenge designers to imagine the next frontier in their craft.
Schedule of Design Fest Events:
- August 15: Adobe CreateNow! Event: Join Adobe for a dynamic session showcasing the latest tools and features that are revolutionizing the design industry. This event is a must-attend for anyone looking to stay ahead of the curve with Adobe’s cutting-edge software. This is a free event, but please RSVP here to reserve your space!
- August 19: Freelancer’s Workshop: Kick off the week with practical advice and networking opportunities for freelance designers. Learn from industry experts and gain insights on managing a successful freelance career.
- August 20: Open Studio Tours: Visit three influential and diverse Portland, ME design studios. This is a unique opportunity to see behind the scenes and meet the minds shaping the future of design.
- August 20: Design in the Park: Join us for a FREE live design event with Portland based graphic designer, Gina Sterling.
- August 21: Risorama!: Learn the basics of risograph printing in this group workshop at Pickwick Press and make a one-color collaborative print!
- August 22: Portland Typewalk: Experience the city through the lens of typography. This guided tour will take you through Portland’s streets, highlighting the rich typographic history and its influence on modern design.
- August 23: The Future of Design Conference: This conference will feature insightful presentations and panel discussions on topics like AI to address our creative community’s most pressing questions and offer chances to network and mingle with fellow creatives. The event will conclude with a door prize drawing, where attendees have a chance to win a one-year subscription to Adobe CC along with other prizes!
