After a brief tour and introduction to 19th century techniques by a Living History Farms expert, participants will have the chance to create personalized projects using late-19th century printing equipment. Create a draft of your design, then set type by hand, run a proof copy on the proof press, and finally print your projects with a foot-powered job press.
There are two 3-hour sessions to choose from: 9am-12pm or 1pm-4pm and each class is limited to 8 people. AIGA Iowa members will have an opportunity to register now until April 16th then it will be open to everyone. This has been a sold-out event in the past, so register early!
NOTE: The Print Shop is without heat or AC and letterpress can get messy so please dress accordingly.
