Join AIGA Maine for a walking tour of Portland’s Old Port, where we’ll explore the city’s historic typography, hand-lettered signs, ghost ads, and visual gems through the eyes of two design pros: Allie Norman and Abby Swain.

We’ll start at Monument Square, meander through cobblestone streets, and wrap up at The Thirsty Pig—just in time for our AIGA After Hours happy hour. Bonus: every Typewalk attendee gets a free drink ticket to use at the bar.

Meet Your Guides:

Allie Norman is a Portland-based branding and packaging designer, art director, and founder of Studio Garden Party, an agency focused on hospitality and lifestyle clients. Her work has been featured by Maine Home + Design, Logo Lounge, and The Portland Press Herald.

Abby Swain is a visual identity and type designer specializing in custom branding and hand-drawn display typefaces. A MECA&D grad and creative collaborator with Portland Design Co., Abby brings deep typographic knowledge and a love for signage and serifs.
