Our kick-off event is exactly what it sounds like: a race through Baltimore to collect a specific set of characters before everyone else does. Bike, run, roll, walk, cartwheel, hop, skip, jump, or crabwalk, the choice is yours—as long as it’s human-powered!

Get some friends together, or bring the family, and take a journey through the heart of the city, hunting for typography you may never have noticed before. Your afternoon will begin at Race Pace Bicycles in Locust Point and end with a post-race get-together at Moonshine Tavern in Canton. We’ll announce the winners in various categories, including fastest completion time, most creative set of letters, and best costumes, along with featuring a slideshow of our favorite photos of the day.

Registration opens at 11 am and the Race begins at noon.
