Maine Design Fest ‘26: East Bayside Mural Walk & Talk

Join AIGA Maine for an afternoon of curiosity, creativity, and community as we explore one of Portland’s most vibrant neighborhoods through the eyes of two local artists.

We'll gather at Coffee By Design in East Bayside before setting out on a guided walking tour led by artists Ryan Adams and Rachel Gloria Adams. Along the way, we'll discover murals, public art, installations, and hidden creative gems while learning more about the artists, stories, and ideas that help shape the neighborhood's visual identity.

After the walk, we’ll return to Coffee By Design for coffee, conversation, and a chance to connect with fellow creatives, neighbors, and Design Fest attendees.

Whether you’re a designer, artist, photographer, urban explorer, or simply curious about Portland’s creative culture, this event offers a unique opportunity to experience East Bayside from a new perspective.

What to Expect:

  • Guided walking tour of East Bayside’s murals and public art
  • Insights and stories from artists Ryan Adams and Rachel Gloria Adams
  • Opportunities to meet fellow creatives and community members
  • Informal networking and conversation at Coffee By Design after the tour

Good to Know:

  • The walk will cover approximately 1–2 miles at a relaxed pace.
  • Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
  • Children are welcome to attend with a parent or guardian.
  • In the event of significant rain, we'll gather at Coffee By Design for an informal artist talk, Q&A, and community meetup instead.
