AIGA Maine is seeking Central Maine board members to join in July 2026.
Interested in helping grow Maine’s design community? We’d love to hear from you. AIGA Maine is currently seeking up to five new board members to join our volunteer team and help shape programming, partnerships, and community initiatives across the state and beyond.
Term: July 2026 through June 2028, with the option to extend. Deadline to apply is June 10, 2026.
AIGA Maine’s Board of Directors is a volunteer group that upholds and supports the chapter’s and AIGA National’s mission and goals. Board members are responsible for creating relevant programming and educational opportunities, building and supporting community, chapter governance, and acting as a bridge between local chapter members and the national organization.
What we’re looking for
Motivated, dependable volunteers who enjoy working both independently and as part of a collaborative team
Strong interest or experience in one or more of the following areas:
Communications (project management, content creation/design, social media, PR)
Development (sponsorships, fundraising, partnerships, membership growth)
Event planning and execution
Community outreach and engagement
You do not need to be a designer to apply. An interest in the graphic arts and a commitment to AIGA Maine’s mission are what matter most
Time commitment:
Attend monthly virtual board meetings (90min)
Serve on at least one board committee (executive, communications, development, or community engagement)
Involvement in planning or execution of at least 25% of our annual programs and events
Board service is 100% volunteer-based
Active AIGA membership is required (you may join after selection)

Selection Process
Applicants will be reviewed by all current board members. We seek a diverse slate of members that represent a range of experiences related to our chapter’s needs… you do not need to be a designer to apply! We welcome all enthusiastic candidates who can best support our organizational mission and actively contribute to the ongoing operations of the board.
