Join AIGA Pittsburgh and Lisa Krowinski, owner of Sapling Press, for a beginner/intro to letterpress workshop in her studio on the Southside. Enjoy your lunch, provided by PGH Taco Truck, while you hear a brief history about letterpress and learn more about Lisa and her shop. After that, prepare to get your hands dirty as you hand set lead and wood type, before walking away with a piece of your own. This is a work space full of inks, grease, and old machinery. Please dress accordingly.

Lisa Krowinski opened Sapling Press in 2003 while living and working as a graphic designer in Baltimore. In 2005 she moved her shop to Pittsburgh and turned her business into her full time gig. While the majority of her business focuses on her wholesale greeting card lines, the studio also turns out a good amount of custom and commercial work. The studio houses lots of gorgeous papers, 3 presses, and several pieces of finishing equipment.

*Advance registration is required. This is a members-only event.
